Deegan Makes History – Becomes First Female NASCAR K&N Pro Series Winner
October 01, 2018 - Toyota development driver Hailie Deegan made history Saturday night by winning the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race at Meridian Speedway, becoming the first female driver to ever win in the K&N Pro Series. Deegan took the lead on the final lap and never looked back to capture the historic victory. “Oh my God,” Deegan ecstatically said in victory lane. “This has to be the best day of my life right here. It doesn’t get any better than this. People don’t understand how many days, how many hours I’ve put into this. How much work I’ve done to get to this moment. It’s just amazing … this is the happiest day of my life. We did it!”
Earlier this week, the 17-year-old driver from Temecula, California tweeted a checklist of goals for her 2018 season. Only one goal remained on her already impressive list: win a race. Deegan got to check that box and make history along the way.
Making history isn’t something new for Deegan. In her last NASCAR race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, she became the first female driver to win a pole in a NASCAR K&N Pro Series race. With racing in her blood, Deegan grew up in the motorsports world with her father Brian Deegan holding legend status in motocross, she easily followed in the racing footsteps. Prior to her time in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, Deegan competed in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series – becoming the first female to compete and win a championship in the off road series.

The Electric Kid
Adam Lansing got the idea to convert a gas car to electric after watching his older brother ask their parents for gas money. January 24, 2018 - Adam Lansing’s prized possession started out as a few thousand pounds of trash with a tree branch growing through the rear bumper. When Lansing was just 12 years old, a friend’s dad overheard him talking about wanting to convert a gas-powered car into a fully electric vehicle. So the dad gave Lansing an engineless 1980 Celica he had lying around outside his garage.
Lansing took it because, if you’re gonna build your own electric car, you might as well do it with a little style, right?
Fast forward to today. A total of 52 rebuilds, six years of frustration and some huge triumphs have turned that Celica into something unique: A 130-mile range electric vehicle, powered by 94 lithium ion batteries.

Toyota RAV4 Rallies to Stunning Victory at STPR
Ryan Millen Keeps Perfect Season Alive After Dramatic Last-Second Win
June 06, 2017
Plano, Texas, June 6, 2017—Ryan Millen came from behind to claim victory by seconds at the Susquehannock Trail Performance Rally (STPR), after a surprising last-second turn right before the finish line. The fourth consecutive win keeps Millen and the Rally RAV4’s perfect season intact in the American Rally Association’s 2WD Class. Second place finisher Seamus Burke led by over a minute heading into the final stage before his highly modified Ford Escort became stuck on a berm after a driving error. While he lost time, the Toyota’s inherent advantages in ride height and durability shined over the rough surface, allowing Millen to bring the RAV4 home in first place. “To finish first, you must first finish, so today was a great day for us,” said Ryan, invoking an age-old motorsport adage. “He lost it in the last mile, and we were there, ready to pick up the pieces.” The ending provided the drama, but the rest of the rally was fraught with challenges, too. While the event’s rules allowed some vehicles a two-minute gap to the car in front, so that dust could settle, the Toyota was given just one minute. As a result, Millen spent most of the rally driving in conditions with very low visibility.

Rally RAV4 Finishes Second in National Championship in First Attempt
Torrance, Calif., Oct. 18, 2016 — An entire season of rally racing is a brutal test of man, woman, and machine. This past weekend at the Lake Superior Performance Rally (LSPR), Ryan Millen, Christina Fate, and their capable Rally RAV4 secured a solid second place finish in the 2WD Class for the Rally America national championship. It’s a serious accomplishment considering their RAV4 had a stock engine and transmission, as it competed against cars with sequential racing boxes, big turbos, and radical modifications. Millen also captured top honors, winning the prestigious Rally America Rookie of the Year award. It wasn’t an easy accomplishment, underscored by a tough rally finale at LSPR. Friday was cold with temperatures in the 30s for much of the day. Stage 1 started in slippery fashion in the mud at the fairgrounds, as spectators watched nearly every car scrabble for purchase. The next few stages before service saw Millen, Fate, and the Rally RAV4 pushing harder than ever before. Going into the first night stage, the team was down 15 seconds on the leader. This was through three stages, as the fourth was cancelled due to an unauthorized vehicle driving on a part of the course.
